Christmas came early!
So my new RIP 9 RDO finally came and I wasted no time getting to Kevin and Alex at Spokes Bike Shop for them to work their usual magic. As you can see they didn‘t hold back.
We placed the usual custom stickers from Merge Decals on the top tube to represent the people who help me keep the wheels turning. As well as to provide some protection from our lovely British mud!
All the custom “iron bro orange” parts from Burgtec and the limited edition orange Fox 36 fork tie in with the frame details perfectly, and keep things matchy, just the way I like it. Hope Pro4 wheels and 4Pot enduro brakes for that perfect mix of weight saving, reliability and stopping power. This build has Shimano XT drive, reliable as always and Race Face Next R carbon cranks for extra stiffness so none of that hard-earned horsepower gets lost in translation. I also swapped to the FX DHX2 coil shock (Not shown in photos) because I like the supple feel of the coil on those tricky wet roots we have so much of here in the UK.
I like my flat pedals for when the trails get wild and foot out just helps calm the nerves so I can just hold it wide and let it slide!
I broke in the new whip at Ardrock Mountain Bike Festival last weekend, a perfect mix of wide open trail across mountain hillside and through quarried valley rock beds really let me get to grips with a new bike and realize just how quiet she is with new internal cabling!
As expected from Niner, the bike is perfectly balanced and poised for when you wanna skip the rough bits with style.
Looking dreamy in her natural habitat the new RIP 9 RDO is a definite head turner with the stunning new paint job! I love my new RIP 9 RDO and can‘t thank all involved enough for making it happen. See you on the trail guys.
